As I have often done in summers in the past 25 years,
I spent my vacation last week at the Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York. The weather was blessedly cooler than it
was in the New York City area—so much so that I needed a jacket at points.
During two days, that coolness was accompanied by steady rain.
Whatever the case, we all experienced, as folk-rock
singer-songwriter John Sebastian put it nearly a half-century ago at Woodstock,
“Rainbows All Over Your Blues.”
