Quote of the Day (John Jay, on the Safety of a ‘Wise and Free People’)

“Among the many objects to which a wise and free people find it necessary to direct their attention, that of providing for their safety seems to be the first.” —American patriot, statesman, and diplomat John Jay (1745-1829), “The Federalist #3,” Nov. 3, 1787

In the last 48 yours, after watching the press conference in Helsinki, the American people felt it necessary to express their disapproval of how their safety concerns were regarded by their President. It is an open question how “wise” they were in putting Donald Trump close to power to begin with. Only time will determine Americans will check his power enough to remain “free.”
