Photo of the Day: Taking Them Out to the 19th-Century Ball Game
Last week, I put up this post as part of a series of photos taken at a game played
according to 19th-century rules, at Ringwood Manor in New Jersey. This particular picture, taken that same afternoon, was the
result of a happy accident: I was actually focusing on the players on the field
when the woman here wandered across, along with an older man. As you can see, they
were even more picturesque than the players.
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
