I took this photo while on vacation over a week ago
in Pittsburgh. The decidedly worse-for-wear figure here represented, in effect,
a protest by a resident of a suburban active-adult community who loathed the
compound’s restrictions on Halloween decor. As a result, residents woke up each
day to find this skeleton lodged in another part of the community.
Baby boomers grew up protesting. Do you think
they’ll stop now, even if it’s over depictions of Halloween rather than a war
in Southeast Asia?
