This past weekend, while on vacation in Hilton Head,
S.C., I had the opportunity to attend services at Holy Family Catholic Church. Of course, it is true that a church is
a community rather than a form of architecture. Still, I was glad to see that,
in this garden on the grounds, the church had managed to satisfy a spiritual
imperative (encouraging meditation) with a more aesthetic one (capturing the
beauty of nature through landscape architecture).
