I took the photo accompanying this post last week in
Duffy Square, in midtown Manhattan. It depicts Heartwalk, a project by Brooklyn-based
Situ Studio that won the Times Square Valentine Heart Design competition. It
was inspired by the response to Hurricane Sandy, with planks salvaged from the
superstorm coming from boardwalks from the Rockaways
in Queens; Long Beach, N.Y.; Sea Girt, N.J.; and Atlantic City, N.J. This design
project will be on display until March 10.
