Quote of the Day (David Tang, on Tattoos)
“All I would say about tattoos is that they often
make beautiful people more beautiful, and edgier, but that they always make
ugly people uglier and less edgy. On the whole I dread tattoos because, being
more or less eternally corpulent, I would live in constant fear of seeing my
skin yo-yo across the contours of any tattoos I might have if I ever succeeded
in going on a diet. Besides, I am never sure what a collection of tattoos
really signals. Perhaps defiance or unorthodoxy? But aren’t both of these contrived?”

I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
