This morning, just before stepping into my office at
Rockefeller Center, I caught a few minutes of country music star Sara Evans, kicking off the 2014 “All-American Summer Concert Series” for
Fox and Friends. The singer,
promoting her Slow Me Down Tour, was in fine voice and displayed considerable
stage presence.
Evans was the first country-music personality on Dancing With the Stars, her videos have
been a mainstay on CTV, and her messy divorce from an aspiring politician
surely offered fodder for the writers of the nighttime TV soap Nashville. It was good to see her in
person rather than a fuzzy TV presence (or the inspiration for a fictional
one).
