They might not have been when I took this picture,
on a remorselessly humid morning in early July. But come Sunday, the Pittsburgh
faithful—my oldest brother definitely included—will be hanging on every play as
the Steelers take on Tennessee at Heinz Field in their home opener. The
Steelers are in a tough division (every game they faced the rival Baltimore
Ravens, it seems, turned into a smash-mouth contest these last several years), but,
according to James Brady in SB Nation,
they should benefit from an otherwise weak lineup of opponents. (Prominent
among these weaklings: the Jets.)
