A few weeks ago, after the home opener of my alma mater, Columbia University, at Campbell Athletic Complex, I walked a short distance to the Muscota Marsh, from where I snapped this shot of the most visible and enduring example of school spirit—the big “C” on the cliffs of the nearby Spuyten Duyvil.
