Quote of the Day (Donald Trump, With a Prior View on Apologies)

"Whatever you do, don’t apologize. You never hear me apologize, do you? That’s what killed Jimmy the Greek way back. Remember? He was doing okay ’til he said he was sorry.”—Donald Trump to columnist Howie Carr, quoted by Carr in “Carr: Nothing Sorry About Trump One,” Boston Herald, June 30, 2016

Just how desperate the Trump campaign is now is best exemplified by his need to apologize—twice (really, a quarter-apology-- and a half-apology)—over his piggish tape-recorded comments to Billy Bush of “Access Hollywood” about groping women.

So, Donald: Were you “doing okay” just before you said you were sorry?

If ever one of those “apology tours” that Republicans are always charging President Obama with making was in order, this event is one of them. Let's see if it's an electoral game-changer, or just more of the daily noise created by the Trump campaign.
