Photo of the Day: Grand Central Terminal and Pershing Square Plaza, NYC
It had been longer than I had realized since I had
been in the neighborhood of Grand Central Terminal. I felt at least some surprise,
then, to be greeted by the clatter of construction around Pershing Square Plaza in front of this major transit artery. Evidently,
this area on the west side of Park Avenue between East 41st and East 42nd
Streets will be transformed into a permanent pedestrian plaza. Just one more
alteration in the landscape of the city.
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
