Photo of the Day: Fun on the Esplanade, Battery Park City, NY
I took this photo in late December, but in fact
it reminded me a bit of what it felt like to be in New York City today: sunny,
but cold and windy enough to make you hurry a bit to where you might
want to go. Still, if you were out walking along the Esplanade of Battery Park City, as these young women
were doing back then, bright skies could allow you to overlook the
occasional gust that made me you quicken your step or even grab your hat.
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
