The
larger heart, the kindlier hand;
Ring
out the darkness of the land,
Ring
in the Christ that is to be.”— Alfred, Lord Tennyson, “Ring Out, Wild Bells,” from In Memoriam A.H.H. (1850)
The
picture accompanying this post depicts the Miller Tower Carillon, a fixture of the Chautauqua Institution, where I have
frequently spent my summer vacation. I took this particular photograph back in
2011.
