Photo of the Day: Weehawken Home Halloween Décor

This past Saturday, while taking a local bus into New York, I took the image accompanying this post. Though this house is located in Weehawken, NJ, I suspect that similar sights could have been seen throughout the state these last several weeks—and, indeed, throughout the nation.

Photo of the Day: The NYC Skyline, From Weehawken NJ

Over the last few years, while riding local buses from Englewood, NJ into the Lincoln Tunnel, I have admired the views of New York across the Hudson River from Weehawken. But more often than not, when I whipped out my camera, cars got in the way. Today, miraculously, for a brief span, none did, so I used the opportunity to snap this picture.

Photo of the Day: Weehawken and NY Skyline

Normally, on the long local bus route from Englewood, NJ to the Port Authority in New York, I occupy myself with all kinds of reading. Photo of the Day: NYC Skyline, From Park in Weehawken NJ

If I’m going in and out of the Lincoln Tunnel at non-rush hour times, when express buses don’t run, the trip can be long and exhausting. What makes it bearable is the spectacular skyline outside the window of my bus. On a clear day, no matter how many times I’ve seen it before, the vision across the Hudson River from Weehawken, NJ, leaves a sense of wonder in its wake. I took this particular photo back in late April of this year. when, as usual, I was transfixed by the sight.

Photo of the Day: The Snowy Heights of Weehawken NJ

I took the image accompanying this post a week ago, mid-to-late afternoon, while there was still light out, on the commute home, just as I had emerged from the Lincoln Tunnel helix. The way that the weather’s been, I wouldn’t be surprised if the snow in this picture stays on the ground for the rest of the winter.

Photo of the Day: Victorian House, Weehawken, N.J.

I took this image from the window of a bus on the long ride into work. There was one house like this after another on this street just off of Boulevard East.
