Spiritual Quote of the Day (St. Teresa of Avila, on Mercy and Gratitude to God)
“I cannot
believe that a soul which has arrived so near to Mercy itself, where she knows
what she is, and how many sins God has forgiven her, should not instantly and
willingly forgive others, and be pacified and wish well to everyone who has
injured her, because she remembers the kindness and favors our Lord has shown
her, whereby she has seen proofs of exceeding great love, and she is glad to
have an opportunity offered to show some gratitude to her Lord.” — Spanish nun
and mystic St. Teresa of Avila (1515-1582), The Way of Perfection, and Conceptions of Divine Love, translated by the Rev. John Dalton (1852)
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
