Photo of the Day: ‘Heliconia Loop,’ NY Botanical Garden, Bronx NY

I came across this outdoor sculpture by Mark Chai while I was visiting the exhibit “Georgia O’Keeffe: Visions of Hawai’I,” at the New York Botanical Garden a few weeks ago. DCM Fabrication was responsible for translating Chai’s original wood model into the larger stainless-steel installation in this pool, shaped to suggest plants that the artist came across as a child in Hawaii, such as the heliconia.
