For a number of years, driving through Westwood, NJ,
on Washington Avenue, I have noticed St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church. Last weekend, curiosity
finally got the better of me and I took a shot of the exterior.
While the parish itself has been around since the 19th
century, the present structure was dedicated in 1964 and renovated 24 years
later. The stained glass windows were created by the famous French designer Jean
Barillet (1912-1997), who worked in a number of basilicas, cathedrals and churches
in many countries including the The Cathedral of St Joseph in Hartford, as well as the Cathedral
of Notre Dame and the Church of Audincourt, both in his native France.
