A week ago, while visiting my
brother in the Pittsburgh area, I attended mass at St. Mary’s Church in Sewickley.
The parish was founded in 1853 to serve the needs of German congregants. This
August marks the 165th anniversary of the dedication of that small
but lovely structure. Currently, the church is being administered along with
another Sewickley church, St. James.
