As
with the Photo of the Day from yesterday,
this is part of the Erika and David Boyd Sculpture Garden in Leonia, NJ. And,
as with that sculpture, this one was created by Stanley E. Marcus.
On
the Web site for Sculpture for Leonia,
a non-profit organization maintained by volunteers that seeks to bring public
art to this New Jersey suburb, the artist has written that this particular
work, though not a self-portrait, gives a sense of what he would like to be: “big,
strong, fierce.”
