Photo of the Day: Sphinx, Ringwood Manor, NJ
Back in May, I took this photo of a granite sphinx
statue outside of the Glass Piazza in Ringwood Manor in northern New Jersey. As I mentioned in a prior post, this estate—a late colonial-era iron works, then a 19th-century
country manor—contains, in addition to acres of lush natural beauty, a number
of outdoor sculptures, such as this one.
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
