Quote of the Day (Alfred Doblin, on Good and Great Teachers)
“I used to think great teachers inspire you. Now I
think I had it wrong. Good teachers inspire you; great teachers show you how to
inspire yourself every day of your life. They don't show you their magic. They
show you how to make magic of your own.” —Alfred Doblin, “To Tom and Angela, Two Great Teachers,” The Bergen Record, September 1, 2014
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
