Last week, passing through Rockefeller Center, I
came across this sight. Now, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that Jeff Koons
is one of my favorite artists. Nevertheless, there’s no doubt that Split-Rocker,
towering over 37 feet high and containing 50,000 flowering plants, is a most
unusual piece of art. This planted form made its debut in Rockefeller Center to
coincide with the opening of a retrospective on the artist at the Whitney
Museum of American Art.
