Photo of the Day: Come Blow Your Horn
New York is the capital of self-promotion, as one of
its more prominent citizens, Donald Trump, would be happy to tell you (along with
how great his business is).Despite my lifelong exposure to that
attitude, I still find it somewhat off-putting. If you’re going to blow your
own horn, I figure, at least make some good music out of it, as this street
musician was doing late this afternoon across the way from Duffy Square in
midtown Manhattan as I made my way home from work.
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
