The other day, in a prior post, I alluded to the presence of The Arch, by Alexander Calder, at Storm King Art Center in upstate New York. Today is time to
spotlight another work of his in that unusual collection of outdoor sculptures
that I photographed last October: Five
Swords (1976), on “Museum Hill,” the site of many of the center’s earliest
acquisitions.
As I did the other day in my post on a Henry Moore sculpture, I did not want to miss another opportunity to write about Storm King Art Center, an outdoor
sculpture park in upstate New York. I snapped this photograph of Alexander Calder’s
The Arch (1975), set in The Meadows
part of the site, in the same afternoon photo session last October when I took the one by
Moore and a number of other artists.
