Photo of the Day: Park, Lake and City
Friday, on my last day in New York City for 2011, I
paused before visiting the New-York Historical Society to enjoy the
unseasonably mild late-December weather in Central Park. Hundreds of other people
had the same idea, including this group I photographed by the 20-acre man-made lake—the
second-largest in this entire majestic urban park—near the Ladies’ Pavilion.
I'm a librarian (no, NOT a "cybrarian" or "information scientist" or any of the other trendy terms the profession has come up with), as well as a freelance writer/researcher; my political leanings are contrarian, much to the dismay of friends on the left and right, and so I will give anyone looking for my vote exactly what they deserve -- the back of my hand
