I write this with harrowing images and sounds from
Hurricane Helene in mind, and pray for all those whose homes lie in the path of
the storm.
The image accompanying this post, Hurricane,
Bahamas, created by American artist Winslow Homer (1836-1910), now hangs in
the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
