The above contention about “two raised eyebrows”
appears to be contradicted by the evidence in the accompanying photo. Jack
Nicholson in The Shining is conveying that the phrase “killer eyebrows”
is hardly a metaphor. He’s not surprised—he’s making sure the person
he’s talking to is, and not in a pleasant way.
