For some reason, I have always felt drawn to the unusual
shape of the hosta, and in the garden given over to this at the New Jersey State Botanical Garden at Skylands, I found sizes ranging from miniature to giant. (It’s hard to
believe that this shade-loving perennial was not a commonly found plant in the U.S.40
years ago.)
I took this photograph several weekends ago, on the
same Sunday afternoon when I snapped this picture I posted a week ago.
