In mid-May, I didn’t have enough time in the
afternoon, after having visited Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Public Library,
to really explore and enjoy the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG). But I resolved to come back at the early possible
opportunity, and five weeks later I made good on my promise to myself.
By the time I made it back, the Cherry Esplanade, seen in this photo I took, was well past the
height of its bloom and beauty. But the sweeping vista remained wonderful, and
many visitors, like myself, could not stop taking pictures.
In contrast to the rest of the grounds on this wonder of Brooklyn,
sitting on the grass is permitted—and BBG members enjoy the additional
privilege of summer picnic nights.
