Photo of the Day: Bishop’s Garden, Chautauqua
As longtime readers of this blog know, I’ve
visited the Chautauqua Institution
in upstate New York at least a half dozen times over the past two decades. Yet
this year, perhaps because I sought somewhat different subjects for
my camera, I came across this peaceful spot, at the corner of Peck and South
Lake Drive. “Bishop’s Garden” commemorates one of the two co-founders of this
example of Americana, Bishop John H. Vincent. Within a community that calls you
away from a life of toil and haste, this is an oasis of even greater stillness,
repose and peace.
