Photo of the Day: Before the Rough Waters

I love to watch kayakers in my area, whether on the Hudson River, as here, or on Overpeck Creek. A couple of weeks ago, in the recently opened and expanded “New” Overpeck Park near where I live in Bergen County, N.J., I snapped a shot of one of those people enjoying nature. Those waters looked far rougher, I’m certain, last week after Hurricane Sandy hit. I don’t even want to think of what it’ll look like after the nor’easter predicted for late Wednesday night.
