One addenum: Hitler was no...Great piece (as usual). One addenum: Hitler was not bound by a pact with Japan to go to war against the U.S.The Nazi-Japanese agreement was defensive. It only came into effect if one of the parties was attacked. The opposite happened at Pearl Harbor. Hitler thought that it was inevitable that the U.S. would come into the war, and in a sense already was. It seemed to him that the U.S. would be tied down in the Pacific, so now was the time to go to war. It's interesting to hear his declaration on You Tube.
